When selecting you vendors you should always try and avoid craigslist. This is a place where you can get lucky or you could face disaster.
 
1.  choose your vendors carefully.  Make sure they are reputable. they don't always have to be the most experienced but they should be advertising where everyone else is. i.e. wedding wire, the wedding guide, the knot,  San Antonio weddings, perfect party planner guide etc...... Other Vendors at least some of them should have heard of them or at least know...
